Have been busy working on a website for a client. She wanted me to change the song that was on there. Easy, right? Wrong! I had to upload the song, change a line of code and then replace the images on each page. FireFTP wouldn't let me into the site, so had to use another FTP program. When I got that working, Dreamweaver didn't save the images to the site, so I had to replace them all "by hand" with Contribute. One friend suggested I use Joomla, but I have no idea how to install that. I think I need to do that to the server. I hope I'll have some help there. Otherwise, I'd play with that program.  Froggy found some broken links, so I fixed those. So...I think everything's finally in place now. I hope so.

The song she wanted to use was pretty, but I got tired of hearing it after having to put it on every single page. I know there's an "off" switch, but couldn't always use it. I can only take so much of American Idol.

I tend to make things hard on myself, don't I?

I need to relax. Maybe I can make more lace butterflies. I have my thread, shuttles and book with me.

Froggy wants to do something else downtown besides eat dinner at the Green Goddess. He's looking at who's playing where.

I think Betty Harris is playing on the Point sometime soon. I'd like to see her. Again. Ah...Wednesdays on the Point. Aug. 16. I hope that's not when Tal and I are going to Beau Rivage. That is, if we go. I have to give him an answer by the 25th of this month (his birthday). I mean, I'd like to see him again, too...but Betty Harris performs rarely these days. Decisions, decisions.

...is moving right along. I got a call from Pageantry Magazine this morning that I returned, but my contact is out for the day, so I'll have to call him tomorrow if he doesn't call back first. Meanwhile, I have a press release to write and distribute to local and national media.

It feels weird having to do this all myself. It's a lot of hard work being quasi-self-published. Sometimes I wish I'd been picked up by a "traditional" publisher so they could do all the publicity for me. On the other hand, I have control over the whole process. So there are tradeoffs.

Froggy's honeymoon was a combination honeymoon/book tour. For me, it will be either-or. If I'm going on a honeymoon, I want to pay attention to my husband, dammit.

Speaking of marriage, the governor of Maine just signed a bill recognizing same-sex marriage. Yay! Soon all of New England will recognize it. I hope California will overturn the hateful Prop. 8.

There is a move afoot to strip Carrie Prejean, Miss California USA, of her title because she is using the title to further her personal agenda rather than representing her state. The Miss California USA organizers are considering this very carefully. I read an interview with one of the directors, and it was rather vague. I want to write an e-mail to the Miss Universe and Miss CA USA organizations.

I was too sleepy to go. And it's too wet outside. )

I'm listening to froggy's radio show right now. I decided not to go to the station with him because I was feeling too sleepy.

Froggy finally got an invite over here. Don't know if he's used it yet. Welcome, love! :)

I'll soon move my journal over here because Dreamwidth will become what LJ wants to be, but much more open source, further developed and not subject to what the Russian company does with LJ. Whatever.

Am finally getting some response over in the [community profile] neworleans community over here. We have a few members who are starting discussion.

Hello and welcome to my Dreamwidth Journal! I'm making this general access at the moment, but I will probably limit this to friends-only once I make and have some friends to interact with me. Meanwhile, relax and enjoy!
